The French-German cooperation

Partagez

The CNOSF is associated with the Franco-German Youth Office (OFAJ-DFJW-FGYO) to promote the French-German sports cooperation.

The aim of the Franco-German Youth Office is to tighten the bonds between young people in both countries, to strengthen their mutual understanding and to provoke, encourage and, where necessary, to set up meetings and exchanges between young people.

“Third countries programmes” are also implemented. More than 226 meetings of over 7,000 young people from Germany, France and 42 third countries (mostly with countries of Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe as well as the Mediterranean) have already taken place.

Sport develops a better understanding between French and German young people and helps them building developing friendship. As a common language, sport allows the young sportsmen to overcome barriers and to get to know their European partner better. The programme is also an opportunity for young people to practice foreign languages.
